I’ve seen this so many times, and you’ve put into words things I’ve always suspected. I despise meetings that only serve to make someone feel important, or filing reports that “have to be done” but serve no real purpose. Our modern work culture is based on a nebulous notion of “success,” not actually getting important work done.
